During his 10th grade year in high school, Avi Buffalo began writing and recording songs at home on his computer about teen angst and heartbreak. After being asked to do a few shows by local folk show organizers called Outsider Folk, Avi assembled a full electric band to debut at the start of his junior year. The group played a number of local shows in Long Beach before being asked to play in Los Angeles. The band got asked to play many more shows in LA, and a year later Avi began recording songs with engineer Aaron Embry. These recordings began to form parts of the band's first record. In May of 2009, Avi Buffalo did a residency at The Echo in Los Angeles, and in June of 2009, they went on their first tour of the pacific northwest. Avi's music is a mash-up of many genres, with heavy guitar influence and lyrical ambiguity.
